I believe in the power of music and the lifelong enjoyment learning how to play an instrument or using one's instrument (voice) can bring to an individual's life. I offer lessons in piano and voice. Throughout the journey to finding what part of music you enjoy most, we will learn about music theory, a little music history and the difference playing or singing with passion and enjoyment can make in a performance.
I have been playing the piano since I was 5 years old. I graduated from Northern Michigan University with a degree in Music Education. My degree focus was in piano, voice and percussion. I also have completed my master's degree in education. I taught K-12 general and vocal music in the public school system, and I have taught privately for almost 25 years now. I enjoy creating fun and challenging concerts and recitals.
I traveled around the world with Up With People for a year as a student performer. During which, I had the opportunity to perform as a soloist, band keyboardist and in the vocal ensemble.
Music is my life. Everyone has the ability to learn the skills to create music. I would love to assist you in developing your passions in music.
